Does anyone have clips showing how martial arts are evolving?
I need a couple videos to show how martial arts have been changing (i.e Jujitsu became Judo). I would also like videos of how weapons have changed, for example, the Okinawa weapons. If anyone has any videos or even pictures of paintings showing how these styles began and what they have become, it would be much appreciated.
The martial arts are not evolving, just because a popular sport portrays the art in a different light means nothing.

Martial Arts $15.22 First the book describes what the martial arts are — that they are not just sports, but also methods of defense and ways to improve one’s body and mind. Then the book touches on the history of martial arts — they began in India and then spread to other parts of Asia. Two martial arts are discussed in detail: Judo (which means the gentle way ), a type of wrestling that started in Japan; and karate (which also started in Japan), in which a person uses no weapons except their own body, striking at one’s opponent with hands, fingers, elbows, wrists, or feet. Taekwondo is a type of karate that came from Korea. Other martial arts are also described, including jujitsu, aikido, and kendo. |
